This family has been clients of mine for years — from their engagement session, to welcoming a new addition, to capturing so many beautiful family moments along the way. But this session was a little different, and honestly, I loved every second of it.
We turned this into a fun family session where the kids could truly just be kids, and we were also able to include their grandmother, which made it even more special.
As a photographer, I’m always trying to capture the “perfect” moments — the smiles, the poses, the perfectly timed shots. But this session reminded me that sometimes the best moments are the unplanned ones. We let the kids be themselves. There were no stiff poses or forced smiles. We walked, played with bubbles, laughed, and simply enjoyed the moment together.
Don’t get me wrong — I still love traditional family portraits, too. But sometimes it’s nice to step outside of that bubble, embrace the chaos a little, and make memories that feel real, messy, and full of life.
